Chromeo‘s single “Dont’ Turn the Lights On” off the highly anticipated “Business Casual” album has been making waves through the blogosphere for some time now, and now electronia supergroup Aeroplane has done an amazing remix of it. Enjoy :D

A few months ago I posted a collection of three mixes I recorded in a single night and put them up without saying much. Now I’m my own worst critic, and I’ll be the first to tell you such but I really believe one mix in particular deserves it’s own post

(plus I haven’t posted in a month and I’ve no material XD)

I wanted to create a short mix with mostly a french filter house sort of vibe, celebratory and playful instead of sober-grooving and sedated, like most nu-disco I’ve been listening to recently. After listening to that material I recorded I believe that this particular mix is the best and I’m going to go ahead and feature it, this time with a tracklist. Shiny.

I’m not exactly sure how today is the first time I’ve heard of Kolt13. They’re a wicked awesome frenchy duo that apparently have quite the gift for production. The sound is like 16-bit retro but with modern electro kick. Kolt 13 has remixed artists from all over ranging from Tigersapien, Chromeo, Kavinsky, Empire of the Sun and many many others (which will be posted here : D) And a proud member of the up and coming record label TUFF EM UP! Which, lemme tell ya, is one to watch. Other members include Redial, Barreto, and Nadisko.

Ratatat‘s LP4 can be called the called the missing piece of LP3, not more of the same but definitely carries on the style LP3 started. After the Classics album in 2006 there was a massive recording session that resulted in 30 orignal tracks. Roughly half of these tracks would become LP3 (2008) and the other half would be reworked and shaped meticulously to become LP4, slated for a June 8th release.

I was up all night blog crawling :D I collected around 400mb of new music and listening to it all really got me in the mixing zone. So even though I was drinking most of the night and hadn’t slept much I decided to boot up VDJ and hit record and just let the chips fall where they may ;D I got a couple hours worth of material and cut it down into a few bite sized files. It was just a little celebratory party as you can see. The bigger party will be at our house in a few weeks probably. ANYWAY, we’ve been busy (in between partying) working on the mixtape and MadDef as a business. Recently, we recorded 5 tracks and uploaded 4 on Tek’s official Myspace page which you can find HERE. But I want to include one on this website and make it available for download. And again to explain, when the mixtape is done it will be available for listening on the official Teknizzy Myspace page and available at MadDef.com for download. Wow. It’s been a rough few weeks let me tell you. Between work and school, I just didn’t have enough free time to update or work on anything MadDef related D: But now I’m here and finals are over, which means it should be smooth sailing, at least for a little while. Tek (read: Infy) and I were up till about 4 or 5 am recording a couple of tracks for the upcoming mixtape, tentatively named “The Pandemik”. It is fire. Just absolutely amazing. I’ve heard this cat rhyme before and it just doesn’t even compare to what he’s doing right now. We have one track fully recorded waiting to be mastered and two tracks in the process of recording. It’s a lot of work dontchano.

Because of the work we were doing yesterday, I woke up about an hour ago. Looking at the the clock and realizing it was 1pm I decided I HAD to do something productive today, even if it’s only one thing. So I made a mix for all of you.

Yo whats up everybody! We have a close friend of ours who we want to give some spot light to.This is the “Close your Eyes mix” by DJ Tommy Pinz. The 33yr old DJ (Tommy Pinz) has been in the game for quite some time. The veteran out of Long Island New York has been DJing all over the US for about 17 yrs. He’s rocked clubs such as Metro 700 (NYC), o bar (Miami), Level 1 (North Carolina), Metropolis (Queens NY), bridgewater (Long Island), Sprats aka Glow (NY),Limelight (NYC) and KTU Radio Station in NYC. The long time DJ has moved on from the club scene and the “Wheels of Steel” but occasionally throws up chill mixes for the love of music.
